Mr. Charbonneau's knowledge of hotel operations came from years of employment at the front desk and in reservations. As a tourist he's stayed at over thirty Las Vegas valley casino/hotels! As a consumer his philosophy is to avoid hotels with a resort fee, unless he is staying on a complimentary with the resort fee waived (not all Vegas hotels waive the resort fee on a comp); staying on a buy-one get-one free offer (where the resort fee is waived on free nights); or when using a coupon/reward for a free night with payment of the resort fee. A recent Vegas visit for example, straddled June and July 2016 for fifteen hotel nights. Twelve nights were comps (resort fees waived), two nights were free on a reward (required payment of resort fees) and one night was a promotional rate at a property with no resort fees that included a food credit. His total hotel cost was a mere $95 plus tax which was offset by $45 in Free Slot Play and $60 in Food & Beverage Credits! Mr. Charbonneau's knowledge of casino operations came from working in the Slot Departments of two major casinos, from entry level to Slot Shift Manager. He also worked on the production line at International Game Technology (IGT) refurbishing and assembling Slot & Video Poker machines. As a consumer he has experienced one form of gambling or another in three countries and four states. While the information provided is helpful, the style of writing and formatting used in this book is annoying. It begins with a multi-page 'push' for why this is such a great book which is completely unnecessary; I've already bought the book- so there's no need to get me enthusiastic about reading it. The author also has a tendency to end at least one sentence per paragraph with an exclamation point. Really! But I've already discovered some great tips that will save me money when visiting the area. Seriously! So I would say buy it for the info, and ignore the flaws.

This book offered me no useful information. There are no real 'tips' in here that aren't obvious. I was hoping for insider info on what hotels are the best deal or something. Instead I got a history of the town and who owns what hotel and the buying and selling history of each. I'll be purchasing another guide, because I didn't get anything out of this one.

I have been to Las Vegas many times and thought I knew everything about being "frugal". Turns out I didn't! This book is great whether you are a newbie to Vegas or a repeat visitor like myself. The book is an easy read with hundreds of valuable tips for saving money in Las Vegas. I enjoyed the detail provided for such things as transportation options around the Las Vegas Strip and also the detail provided about each casino property. The author has done tons of valuable research and presented it concisely in this book. From food to gambling...you WILL save $$ with this book. It's a "must have" if you are planning a trip to Las Vegas and want to spend wisely!

He has 20 health like anyone as normal and he is a little slow. He helps steve get food and gives him trading items along the way. the second one is called Mixelcraft he is a very intelligent and skilled warrior. his weapon is a Laser gun and lots of tech and spy items, all of his attack items deal 9 average, 11 sometimes, and 14 rarely.So that is it for now.

I love this book. This is mostly about a character. I want to be teleported from Steve the Noob world into vortex is using a teleported that Cold made but malfunctioned. Also, can I have a golem suit please. If Steve the Noob is copyrighted or something then I can settle with a good herobrine that has a special class that only a herobrine can have. Can it be an elemental class that is fire and frost. He has a fire sword like the inferno blade but it can shoot a fireball. I also have an ice how that does splash freezing. The freezing effect freezes mine and evil herobrine in place. Also becomes Steve's best friend. Thank you so much. FYI I do not care if I do t get the character. You have permission to change it and also I would one hundred percent appreciate it if you would add one of the two characters. Thanks. Wow! This book was great! Now the overall plotline is clear, this bookis way better than the other ones. Super good!Divining pool ideas- my last idea in my last review about the special sword and the player named Iron Warrior12341.a player named BeastMaster6768 or MasterAssasin112 who has true immortality (He can die but he reforms in the same spot that he he died) and has limited form of creatibe mode like instantly having food or weapens in his inventory when he really needs it. (It can only be used 10 per month)-Have jack find out the truth of the divining pool and have him "talk" with people who have sent messages using the divining pool.Thanks-Enderclan! :)

If you.want reall litrpg look at awken online and realm of arkon(not minecraf) but this... i feel like its not the best series. and you should in my opinion end it quik and keep skeloton steve.And with skeoton steve its also going a bit downhill in MY opinion. this book was very fun to read and is also pretty funny! i am a little dissapointed that you did not furfill my request but im ok with it, you win some you lose some. but i am gooing to request it again. I would likee too have a chacter in the book who is like god in a way, he is the one who controls the divineing pool and also put that invincibility aroura on him. his name would not shhow up in the divineing pool because he was there all along. if you cant do this i under stand but if you could that would be amazing!

I had to buy this book for a college course. It has tons of case studies - which are interesting - but I felt that the informative parts of the text were just too dry. Not my favorite.

I grabbed this book because I've been reading a lot lately on critical thinking and thought processes for business and personal growth. I never realized I had so many biases until I read this book. Knowing, now I can ask those questions on bias when discussing any business process. We often assume so much, and don't even think of how we filter others' ideas out if they're not like our own, and usually don't realize it at all. Critiquing my own previous big decisions as I read through this, I learned I have a lot more thinking to do about thinking in new ways. Highly recommended for any business professional.

This is my second time purchasing from this author, and he keeps me coming back for more! I hold trainings internally for my job, and monthly sessions where we discuss with the sales team tactics to be more effective.I've used Steven's writings as part of my presentation's before, and they were extremely popular. I highly recommend his works if you want to teach yourself mental discipline, and change the way you think about business, life, everything. Another fantastic read and I hope to purchase more from him!

This audiobook helped me to understand why I make certain choices and decisions. By understanding what motivates my thoughts and biases I can actually make better decisions. It was very informative. The narrator is a great choice for this audiobook. He conveys lots of complex information and keeps your attention on what is being said. I would recommend this book for people looking at ways to control emotions, deal with behavioral biases, or just general decision making processes. The book comes at you from an understanding angle that everyone is different based on previous experiences and personal histories. This was a great way to allow the reader to relate with the authors points without the tips feeling generic.

This was a very interesting read because it helped me identify negative thinking patterns I use to fall into, I started consciously making an effort to monitor my thinking and it helped me break some bad habits I formed. Have you ever gotten cranky and you didn't know why? Probably bad thinking patterns and this book will help you identify and single them out so you can discipline your mind. I would definitely recommend this book because I started following the teachings and my mental health is much better because of it.

I can see why this book is ranked among the Classics, and it is certainly a classic work in American Literature. Richard Henry Dana, a Harvard student from a well-to-do family, suffering from health issues due to the stress of academic life, makes a health-motivated decision to sign on as a regular seaman on an American merchant sailing vessel circa 1830. Others of his standing would more than likely have opted for a tour of Europe or sailing on a luxury ship, but he believed the rigors and outdoor activity from sailor life would reinvigorate his health. Most who make this kind of life decision, especially from a privileged family and lifestyle, fail miserably and the "dream" is quickly aborted. Not so with Master Dana. The narrative covers two years of his life aboard two ships - the Pilgrim and the Alert, sailing on the Pilgrim to the Pacific along Coastal California, and returning back to Boston on the Alert. His education and insatiable curiosity and discipline to keep a good set of notes enabled him to create a sort of documentary novel that captures, in vivid manner, life aboard a merchant sailing vessel in the early 19th century. He documents both the good and the bad. The good is the sheer joy of physical exercise, the sun and salt air - which in fact did resolve his health issues - but also documents the bad, or perhaps "negative" side of merchant sailor life. A sailor's lot was not good. There was constant work, difficult sleeping conditions (watches every 4 hours), and constant calls for "all hands ahoy" when changing wind or weather conditions required reconfiguring of sails. I learned a lot about sailing from this book. I can't pretend to remember all of the various kinds of sails - there are many, but the fact that sailors were constantly up and down the rigging to set, unset, furl, unfurl, and in other ways reconfigure the sails to suit the winds and the weather. Their diet consisted mainly of salt beef, biscuits, and tea or water, except when in ports. The Captain was king, with power of life and death over the crew. Some were reasonable, and others tyrants. The passing of the ships around Cape Horn were vivid - weeks (and weeks...) of freezing sleet, hail, rain and snow, and still they had to go up into the rigging to try to work with sails and ropes that were literally frozen, and where one false move would put them into the sea - "Man Overboard" - and many were lost in this manner. His description of his fellow sailors, the merchant activities in California (mainly trading for hides), his observations of California during that period, where we now recognize great cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and lesser settlements which now are sophisticated highly populated urban centers were then merely a Mission, maybe a Presidio, and small populations of Mexican, Indian, and emigrant Americans living in adobe homes. The reader will enjoy this book in multiple ways - certainly in gaining knowledge about sailor life, early California, and the commerce at that time, but also about the range of characters, hardships, and occasional contentment accompanying his adventure. I loved the book, and glad I read it, and consider it a must read for those interested in history and wonderful storytelling.

“There is a witchery in the sea…” Richard Dana’s classic memoir of a two-year sea voyage still draws spell-bound readers after nearly 200 years. More than a diary, his story is the result of extensive notes he jots down—somehow—in between seaman’s strenuous duties, above-deck watches every four hours, near-death experiences, and exhausted sleep.Well-educated and from a family of means, the young Dana decides to take to sea as an able-bodied seaman (not an officer) at a time when life on board a merchant brig could be nasty, brutish and short. He takes us out of the Boston Harbor of 1834, around Cape Horn, and up the coast of California in the trader brig Pilgrim before changing ships to the Alert and returning via the same route.Here’s a passage that tells a modern reader how a ship of those days actually looks and sounds as she hits the murderous waves:“Two men at the wheel had as much as they could do to keep her within three points of her course, for she steered as wild as a young colt. The mate walked the deck, looking at the sails, and then over the side to see the foam fly by her, slapping his hands upon his thighs and talking to the ship… And when she leaped over the seas, and almost out of the water, and trembled to her very keel, the spars and masts snapping and creaking,—‘There she goes!—There she goes…as long as she cracks she holds!’”As much as being the story of life at sea in the mid-nineteenth century, TWO YEARS BEFORE THE MAST is also a rare glimpse into the Mexican state of California before it gained statehood a few years later—the people, the harbor towns and presidios, the thriving cattle-hide trade.The hardy mariners return with their cargo through the bitter-cold and dangerous seas of the southern hemisphere which threatens to kill them all. Herman Melville, after reading Dana’s account, remarked that it seemed to have been “written with an icicle.”When Dana published his memoir in 1840 it was with the hope that contemporaries and future generations would better understand the maritime life and even work toward righting the injustices of that life. He could not know that, when gold was discovered in California a few years later, his book would become almost a travelogue for “forty-niners” who flocked to our largest and richest state. Indeed, Dana Point, California, was named after him.

In the 1830's, the author (then a sickly Harvard student) shipped as a common sailor on a commercial clipper ship which left Boston to sail to California and back. Although an educated young man, he lived among the uneducated sailors as one of their own, almost completely separate from the officers on board. It is an engrossing read with detailed descriptions of all aspects of life about those old unpowered sailing ships--a difficult life indeed. The cruelty of the captains towards their men was particularly striking, as was the fact that pretty much everyone, once on board and under sail, was completely at the mercy of the captain, who was basically dictator of that small kingdom.I could hardly put it down. It's amazing to realize that people survived such hardships, and it's also a revealing and endearing story about men living in close quarters with men, either on a ship or in times or war, where no women were normally to be found at all. So interesting on several levels. Well written, and a great read. Highly recommended. (P S - I'm biting my nails to prevent revealing any spoilers about this true-life story).

When I first leafed through the book, I could see that most of the right hand pages were almost illegible, as if they hade been printed on an old copier which was low on toner. Indeed, the entire book looks like a bound collection of poor Xerox pages. In many cases, you can still see the margin shadows created by photocopiers. I requested a replacement, but I am skeptical that it will be an improvement.I expect better form Amazon. This was a disappointment.

I just bought an Anova sous vide and thought I'd get the official book. It's a huge disappoinment.1. It says it's for beginners. I was hoping it would give me general info about sous vide. There's only a four page introduction and then you dive into recipes.2. This is actually a keto diet sous vide cookbook that someone just slapped a different cover on. Consequently, it's mostly meat, and calls for some weird ingredients (monk fruit powder, low-carb Worcestershire sauce, beef feet, and macadamia nuts are some that I don't stock in my pantry). There are dishes no one but a dieter would think of, like celery dip or radish cheese dip.3. This is the worst-edited cookbook I've seen. The numbering of the steps continues from one recipe to the next when the recipes are unrelated (recipe on left page is steps 1-5 and on right page is 6-10, but recipes aren't related). There's a picture of an egg dish on the cover and no egg dishes inside. The author is clearly not a native English speaker, which is fine, but get an editor who is. Here's a sample: "Add this when making seafood dishes and be sure to array and appreciate the great aromas."4. And, speaking of unusual language, the not-quite-right English sounds a lot like several of the reviews. I was sucked into buying this partially because of the four and a half star rating. When I read the reviews now they sound suspiciously like the language in the book, and they don't fit this book at all. I think they are fake. Notice all the positive reviews are kindle editions and the paper reviews are all bad at this point in time. Don't be fooled like I was.Don't buy this book. Sous Vide at Home and the Effortless Sous Vide Cookbook are much better books.Follow up: I sent my comments to Anova, and got the following email reply “I've asked the team and I was advised that the book isn't ours and we haven't licensed it.Thank you!”

In this cookbook, I found many original recipes that are easy to prepare because the instructions are described in detail. I cooked the chicken according to the directions. It was delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed it.

The simple anova sous vide recipe cookbook is the best choice for the beginners like me, who have interest in cooking, to expand their kitchen menu. Hence this cookbook is admirably perfect for me and for everyone. I do recommend this fabulous book to all.

The Anova Sous Vide recipes cookbook will do this for you! This recipe book is a compilation of foolproof easy recipes based on use of the newest and coolest kitchen appliance, the Sous Vide.

The formulas are extraordinary, and extremely all around clarified. There are photographs for each formula. I wish there were general cooking graphs separated from the formulas. Love this cookbook.

This is not a great book. English is not the first language of the writer, and the editor couldn’t have read the book. Spelling mistakes everywhere and the organization of this book is very poor. And it looks way to cheep for what you pay for it. I am also not sure the person in this book knows how to cook, they started to cook chicken for a very short amount of time, as it would still be raw and beef to cook for hours. Also the reviews looked great, but when you read the book they obviously hadn’t read the book because some of them reviewed recipes that were not in the book. Also some of the ingredients in this book are hard to find. We looked on Anova’s webs site and this book was not made by them, so don’t be fooled by the front cover. There were only 2 bad reviews for this book and I found them after I ordered this book. I was very disappointed with this purchase and advise people to dig deeper into the reviews before ordering. I was new to sous vide cooking and the name was enticing, don’t be fooled this book is NOT for beginners!!!!

Cooking with sous vide is a scientific cooking method and this book explains the process very well. The book explains well about the benefits of keto dieting in preventing weight gain, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, cancer, and diabetes etc. the recipe collection is good and author has put in good details.

This is going back immediately. I was foolish for thinking this was produced by Anova. It’s a super cheap binding of Keto recipes like you’d find on the Internet. The paper and font make seem like it was self-published. I’m buying a proper cookbook instead.

Great book for my daughter. Glad I purchased. She said that it does open your mind.

This is filled with lots of fun mindfulness activities and information without it feeling like it's being drilled into your head. I love it, I think it's a good book for anyone who wants to he more mindful/ learn about mindfulness.

Love love this book it gets you to slow down, calm down and think positivity! I recommend this book to everybody!!! Get it you won't be disappointed!!!

I was looking for something that would give me some meditation and writing prompts- things to reflect on while meditating and then journal the thoughts & feelings that arose. This isn’t really a journal, it’s more an activity book and many of the meditation activities are rather simplistic- draw a continuous line changing direction on each breath, stab the page w your pen to get out anger, make yourself a cup of tea and notice the temperature, flavoretc. Some activities are more involved, but many are very simplistic. I do enjoy skipping through the book and some doing activities at random, but others I’m certain I’ll never do. Giving it 3 stars because it’s sweet for what it is, but I’m ultimately disappointed w the purchase because I really wanted something deeper and more reflective that this.

Some of the activities were a bit too simplistic. They didn't get my attention enough for me to want to do them every day. Others involved having other supplies that I didn't have around me so I would have to skip that activity and go to another one. Overall, I did a few activities in this book and haven't touched it since.

Fantastic guided journal! Sturdy, and printed on high-quality paper as well.

Bought it as a gift for my boyfriend that has anxiety. He says it helps keep his mind off of a lot of things, he likes that it's interactive as well.

Seriously BUY THIS! Each exercise is so eye opening. It's a fun little journal that really motivates you to become more mindful. Awesome read!

I didn't like this book personally but I realize it may work well for others. The content -- to me -- is really silly and contrived. One of the exercises is to go around to local coffee shops and then there is a reward to give to the best coffee shop. First off, I don't drink coffee... and second that just seems... strange. And as a busy mom, I don't have time for that even if I DID drink coffee. I struggle with anxiety and I was hoping for a book to help with mindfulness but for me, this is not the book.

What a great book! Easy to read but very challenging. Each step is broken down in 3 parts, Thought, Word and Deed and you’re given an action to do at the end of each. Pride is the greatest sin and this book on humility shined a light on many parts of my life where I fall short. This is a great book to read and share. You won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommend this book. Oh my goodness I enjoyed this book. Funny, insightful, true and attention keeping. I couldn't put it down, read it all in one sitting. Very glad I purchased it for my older son and very glad I read it first before I gave it to him. Will definitely but more copies and give to friends and family.

I bought this for my 16 year old homeschooled daughter to read as part of her religion studies. She enjoyed the book and even did the homework section at the end of each very short chapter. She shared insights with us at the supper table which allowed for some great conversations for the whole family.

This book doesn’t make sense --- at first. A man is described who seems down on his luck: “stressed out, bummed out, overworked, underappreciated, and anxious.” And then the book’s author says that there is a solution to this man’s problem, a 12-step self-help program to improve his life. It is The Ladder of Humility, a 12-step program to greater humility. And reading those words I almost screamed aloud: “What! This guy’s in the dumps already and you’re telling him he needs to be more humble? That sounds nuts!!”But, I read on, and learned the importance of knowing where you are in life, and having the humility to accept things as they are --- and then further, the humility to accept that there is a reason for why things are as they are. In subtle, short chapters, the author explains that God created every life unique, with a unique purpose. In humility we learn to pray and act not with a “Here’s what I want, Lord” self-confidence, but a humble “I trust in You. Show me what You want” love. As the book’s subtitle notes, this is Saint Benedict’s 12-step guide to genuine self-esteem. It’s taking to heart the words: “I trust in You.” The book’s title not only references the rules of humility, but that humility must rule in our lives.This book has deep, yet has short chapters --- with homework at the end of each; it is interesting enough that it will resonate even in teenage minds with short attention spans. It may also help change their “I know everything” mindsets into more open ones. (And referencing the book, parents could quietly ask them: “Did you do your homework?”) This could even be a good family read, around the table, one chapter a night. I’ve already given away a dozen copies of this book to friends. It is a classic.

I found this by accident and it has changed my perspective and a portion of my life. I have ordered several and gifted it to Catholics and non Catholics both. ALL have given the same response.. WOW and Thank You

If you love the teenagers in your life, give them this book, if you love yourself, buy it for yourself. If you love anyone, and particularly if you love God, you need this book. It will help pave the road to real love.

Well written with simple, yet profound, statements on humility. If you complete the homework FR Augustine assigns, you will be a better person.

Gets to the point without 'churchy' language (not that the Church is bad - after all, it's the Mystical Body of Christ and includes us all who don't refuse it- but the using of today's context makes it much easier to grasp. The author is humble ; that makes it easier too!

Grade 2–6—The title of this bilingual biography echoes the theme of the life of a legendary Mexican-American activist in Texas during the 1920s and 1930s. The story moves from Tenayuca's childhood introduction to the poverty and unfair treatment of Mexican Americans living in her hometown of San Antonio to her increasing awareness of the injustice they suffered, and ultimate fight for their civil rights. Their plight made her angry: "She saw so many people go to work when it was still dark and not come home again until late at night. Many worked so many hours that they were coughing and sick, and still they did not earn enough to feed their children." In 1938, at the age of 21, she led a successful strike of 12,000 pecan shellers whose pitiful wages had been cut from six cents to three cents an hour. In an afterword, which includes photographs of Tenayuca, the rest of her story is related: jailed many times, forced to move, she eventually worked her way through college and returned later to San Francisco as a reading teacher for migrant children. Ybáñez's striking illustrations, framed by pecan-tree branches, are reflective of traditional Mexican mural art, with bold colors and simple shapes. This handsome picture-book biography in English and Spanish relates the struggle of Mexican American farmworkers in the early twentieth century through the perspectiive of Emma Tenayuca, who became a labor activist. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, in the early twentieth century, Tenayuca was shocked by the gross inequality around her, comparing her comfortable home to the extreme poverty of the many families of factory and farmworkers. As a smart, kind teenager, she spoke in public about the plight of the pecan shellers in the factories, and at 21, in 1938, she led 12,000 workers in a strike that forced factory owners to raise wages. Co-authored by the late Tenayuca’s niece and one of the activist’s friends, the story is heavy on exclamatory messages. Yet the stirring, unfamiliar chapter in labor history and the humanitarian efforts of Tenayuca herself will intrigue children, who will also like the bold, mural-like illustrations, which show a child confronting suffering and growing up to make a difference. My daughters really enjoyed this story. We used it as part of our home schooling.

I bought 3 copies of That's Not Fair! for the children of my family and friends. One friend told me that her 2 daughters asked to have their mother re-read it that night. Also, another friend told me her children enjoyed it and liked looking at the drawings. I bought a 4th copy for myself, and I enjoyed it too. It's a great book for children and adults.

An excellent text for beginning a discussion about justice in the elementary classroom.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a great story that should be shared with all children. I purchased an extra copy to donate to our cultural center library in memory of a recently deceased family member.

This compelling tale, best for grades 2-6, recounts the biographical story of Emma Tenayuca, a young, Mexican-American activist. This book is an excellent contribution to our effort to diversify the immigrant narrative, as it exposes not only the initial hardships of immigrating to the U.S., but also the myriad of injustices and human rights abuses that have existed and still do exist for Mexican-Americans upon arrival in the U.S. Emma Tenayuca, from a very young age, recognizes the importance of education and the unfairness of the society around her. Her sympathetic viewpoint, coupled with a focused desire to redress wrongs, leads her to become a pioneer for Mexican-American rights in the U.S.The illustrations nicely complement the themes of the story, the rights of Mexican-American laborers and pecan-shellers, and reinforce Emma’s bold agency throughout. In a review of the book, Beverly Slapin of De Colores: The Raza Experience in Books for Children, comments upon the illustrations: “Ybáñez’s full-bleed double-spread illustrations, rendered in watercolor and pen-and-ink on a palette of bold, flat colors with bright highlights, are reminiscent of traditional Mexican murals. While Emma’s red sweater on almost every page focuses the reader’s attention on the subject, the pecan trees and branches that frame each illustration focus the reader’s attention on the issue.” Indeed, the illustrations, as you can seen in the image to the right, subtly show images of trees (the border) and pecans (the illustration on the back wall), reminding readers of the issues at hand. This story, though inspired by real events, reads as a picture book with bright, kid-friendly illustrations. In contrast, the last page of the book provides non-fiction, historical information about Tenayuca, as well as black and white photos of her in the midst of civic engagement. This tale is also written by Emma Tenayuca’s niece as well as one of her friends, adding a layer of intimacy to the biographical telling.Tenayuca was born in 1916 in San Antonio, Texas. She was one of eleven children and at a young age she was sent to live with her grandparents. As readers will see throughout the story, Emma’s grandfather played a very important part in both her personal life, and in her community activism. According to the synopsis at the back of this book, Tenayuca’s feats of activism marked the beginning of a long history of civil rights movements: “Historians regard this action as the beginning of the Mexican-American struggle for civil rights and justice.”The story starts in the year 1925, when Emma is 9 years old. As Emma walks on her way to school, she passes other communities of Mexican-Americans and she is struck by the scarcity of their food and clothes. While Emma is moved by the instances of extreme poverty all around her, she also feels discouraged by her inability to help; the food she offers the children on the street will quickly run out, and once again they will be in need. However, when Emma decides to teach her young neighbor how to read, she realizes, this “would last her forever.” While exposing readers to the history of poverty and human rights abuses that Mexican-American workers suffered here in the United States, this story also emphasizes the importance of education in a move towards civil rights.Emma’s attention is focused especially on the rights of the pecan shellers, or nueceros, who worked long hours and developed a variety of health conditions from an unsafe and unhealthy factory environment: “She saw so many people go to work when it was still dark and not come home again until late at night. Many worked so many hours that they were coughing and sick, and still they did not earn enough to feed their children.” Many of the nueceros were women and children.As the story progresses, Emma teaches the nueceros how to organize and resist. Truly wonderful book! My first and second grade students really "got it" today as I shared the amazing story of Emma Tenayuca during library storytime. More people need to know Emma's story. None of the teachers of my mostly Hispanic, Houston TX school were familiar with Emma.
