This book was purchased in the ebook version for a course I was taking within my graduate program.I ordered the book thinking it would be like a typical text book. I was anticipating it being written in very technical terms that I would struggle to understand. I was happily surprised that it doesn't read so much like a textbook, but more like a book you would casually read. It was filled with real world examples and terms that are easily understood. I really feel that I learned more while reading this book than I did with the other ethics textbook that was used in this class.Even if you are not taking a class that requires this book, it is a great additional reading to reinforce what you are learning already
This book is a typical anthology. The coverage on the topic is good. It certainly could use an index. The authors are writing at a postgraduate level so I certainly would not recommend it for undergraduates. The best part of the book is the case history examples and core concepts. The editors could have brought the styles of the authors of the chapters closer together.
This was a concise presentation on material that gives me knowledge about ethics in treating addicted patients, which I treat, as a therapist. I recommend it to counsellors, addictions specialists, psychiatrists and medical Professionals
Thank you.
helpful
Concise and helpful information that provides a good ethical foundation for actively working with treatment issues. It covers a variety of issues that those providing treatment for substance abuse will find helpful. The book is a good value and is a valuable addition for the substance abuse counselor.
Great book for both teacher and layperson. Well though-out essays on selected ethical issues.
