This series is a huge hit on our house. This is one of those series that's fun, easy to read and just an all around enjoyable book. Anna's newest release is llama llama home with mama, and it's just as heart warming as the rest of the books in the series.Little llama is home sick from school. His mama does all she can to make him feel better. After lots of loving from his mama, some rest and some yummy food, he starts to feel better. Just as he gets his energy back, he finds his mama isn't feeling too good. Little llama does the one thing he can thing of, he takes care of his mama.This is such a cute book. It's a story that I sighed and laughed with. As a mom, it's one that I've related to more times that I would like to admit. How many of us parents have spent a day taking care of our little ones only to find them feeling better and full energy before the end of the day, to in turn find ourselves feeling horribly sick. Little llama's reaction to his mama being sick are both sweet and comical. I couldn't help but snicker when he thinks it's boring that he's feeling better and can't do anything, because his mama is sick. He's definitely not being insensitive, because he ends up reading stories and doing things for his mama that she did for him. That of course is what makes this story so heartwarming.
I am not sure who is more in love with this books.. my toddler or her mom :)These books are easy to read, and explain, have beautiful rithm and simple words so are useful for first books..the themes are so sweet, this one we loved it specially when my toddler got a serious virus and we stayed at home with her .. she enjoyed seeingat llams llama with his mama.. taking care of each other. Simply adorable story
This is the latest installment of the Llama Llama series. Again, I am forced to read this book 3x in a row. This is my children's favorite series.I love the interaction between Mama Llama and Llama Llama. My kids seem to relate well to the stories because Llama Llama reminds them of themselves. We have read it so often that my kids say the ending word (so they help me rhyme). This author has done a really good job of telling cute story that entertains kids. I especially like towards the end when Mama Llama catches Llama Llama's cold, and now Llama Llama is doing the stuff mama did for him.Nice read for daytime or bedtime.
My daughters and I were SO excited to see another Llama llama books come out! We own them ALL and love each and every one of them. This one did not disappoint us. I started the collection when my oldest was 3 and now she is 6 and her little sis is 3 and they both still really enjoy listening to them. My 6 yr old LOVED the pictures, I'm not sure what other people were talking about it being dull and boring, I'm very impressed the author can come up with so many cute rhymes!Its a cute way to show kids what happens when you have to stay at home and are sick, how mothers take care of you, and how sweet it can be if you take care of your mama when she gets it after you ;)I highly recommend all of these books. They are cute, flow nicely, very easy to read, and love to hear my 6 yr old read them to her little sister. Hope there are more to come!
I love Anna Dewdney and I miss her already. I bought these books for my daughter 12 years ago and have gifted them to every child for baby showers, birthdays, holiday presents, ANY TIME I can. These will be a BIG hit if you buy them. I just love them.
