This is a great book especially for folks who want to walk out in nature without strenuous climbs and where there is a wide path usually to avoid things like ticks on brush. Also, very interesting history of the rail trails and area. A good read. Recommended.

For anyone interested in either discovering new trails to ride your bike on in new jersey or someone with an interest in railroading in the garden state the book is highly recommended. I live in northern n.j. (west paterson) and have taken the book with me on rides through some of the longer northern n.j. trails and have found the directions to the trail the sites to see and the remaining RR structures along the trail described very accurately. (Although the author seems to have missed mentioning the RR mile markers remaining on the essex branch by my house! ) Anyway i am 33 y.o. and i find that these long trails are sometimes a nice break from the more typical mtn. biking type of riding i also like to do in some of new jersey's other state parks. Dont get me wrong though ,these trails can certainly provide a great workout too. I recommend the southern section of the columbia trail through ken lockwood gorge as the nicest area in northern n.j.

This is the best book you can buy if you are interested in the great rail trails of NJ. Not only does it provide details about the trails, but the background and history is amazing. Reading the history of a trail before biking/hiking it makes the day more interesting. Great book!

Excellent book on understanding what is and how to apply alternative discipline! As we all now know based on data and much research traditional forms of discipline have only led student on to the path to "school to prison pipeline" with such rules as zero tolerance policies. It is no wonder that schools are now forced to seek alternatives forms of discipline that actually work. As a parent of 3 and a grad-students, I found this book very helpful. It supports the truth that as parents, teachers, counselors, school staff, etc., part of our job is to prepare children for adulthood. To learn from their mistakes and teach them to make good choices in the future. Children are not bad, what they chose to do are sometimes bad, and it's our job to guide them grow from that. When we give them an opportunity to explain themselves and involve them in their own discipline, not only do we allow them to keep their self-worth, we are modeling honor and respect. Because they are allowed to explain themselves they can come up with the understanding of what they did wrong and how they can make it right again. Thus, taking ownership of their actions and are less likely to do that unwanted behavior again. This book walks you on how to do exactly that. It provides many examples of alternative discipline for different types of miss-behaviors. One thing to keep in mind is that as mentioned by the authors, these are ideas and may be used as guides, every child is different and again not one thing or list of ideas will work for everyone, therefore consequences need to be tailored to the student. Some may require more consequences than others, the goal is for the student to learn from the event and make better choices.In addition, I wanted to mention my favorite part of this book, the "Discipline Belief Self-Inventory" (P.9) I believe every administrator, teacher, school staff should take it. When you take this it will give you a "reality check" on your belief system. You may just find that what you say you believe in may not align with your actions. Or as administrator, you may just find why alternative discipline, PBIS, RJ, has not been working in your school.

The ideas and tools presented in this book are applicable and practical. I love that it incorporates social justice practices, but adds so much more. I also love that I can integrate these in at my own pace, rather than trying to make such a huge change at once. I would love to see a forum or social media group where we can all share our "toolkit" ideas. Anyone using these in their school? I would love to see a school using the alternative discipline idea for dealing with students misbehaving for subs!

As a family physician I'm always looking for insight on the comprehensive care of a patient, pediatric or otherwise. At times this compels me to consider how school and home interactions have medical consequences; charging me to inform with some evidence based guidance. This book gives me just the tools and perspective to advise meaningfully and thoughtfully. I'd recommend this book for forever learners, parents who want an education on academic discipline, and for teachers and administrators who place the stepping stones. Thanks!

Good book for restorative justice and understanding the thought process behind it. The workbook in the back is perfect and depending on your school sight, you may just be able to take this book straight to the copy machine and copy an activity or two without any modifications.

As a dean of students at an alternatives school seeking true alternatives to suspension, this book was the icing on the cake. It serves as a much needed missing component to my discipline toolkit. The detailed examples of restorative, instructional and reflective disciplinary responses ignited a bulb for me. Any administrator interested in a truly non-punitive, non-exclusionary approach to discipline should not only read it but train their staff on its philosophy as well.

This book is informative and makes a lot of sense. It offers ways in which to handle behavior issues in place of just sending the child home for the parents to deal with, yet keeping the child accountable for their actions in a way that is useful and helpful to the child that may be going through issues and is what caused the behavior issue in the first place.

This book was so helpful and gave great insight at how to look at discipline through a different lense.

I haven't read many of Penny's books but this has made me rethink that! I absolutely loved it. It was hot and 'educational' to a certain degree. It makes me want to expand on my knowledge of toys. Back to the book. It was well written and I loved the characters as well. Jet, what can I say besides he is absolutely delicious. I liked that Kara wasn't a ditz like some others. She didn't immediately give in when wronged either. I liked that she was smart as well as sexy. The sex toy aspect of this book was refreshing. All in all, a good read that I would recommend.

Kara has hit a rough patch but things are looking up when she lands a job at the Pleasure Chest. Selling sex isn't exactly her area of expertise but she is a fast learner. Jet is a customer that is really concerned about product performance. So concerned that he sends Kara home with toys every night for some hands on testing. Jet and Kara are about to become sex toy experts. Is it in the name of science or love? Quick, steamy read with our friends from the Pleasure Chest!

This is this authors best book yet! It was amazingly sweet and sexy. I really felt like it was a collaboration with A Pleasure Chest as it had different toys and there uses. It was well written and informative. I loved the story line and the characters were great. I really think that it was the perfect story to show case this authors talent and explore some new experiences. Fantastic, highly recommended.

I really enjoyed Kara and Jets story. The introduction of the sex toys gave the intimate scenes that little bit of something extra and pulled this book apart from all the others in its class. So many times even if you are reading different authors the story's just blend together. Penny did a great job setting this one apart. I love her stories and can't wait to read what's next.

This was a fun story set in the same world as Lip Service. There wasn't any character overlap that I could tell so this is a standalone book and you don't need to read the first one first. They both feature The Pleasure Chest as an important setting. :)I enjoyed this one. It was a little unrealistic near the end but it was hot and fun and I laughed.

I really liked this book. It had a cute hot original story and I would have given 5 stars except for his big "reveal" for not calling which was kind of a nothing, anti climactic excuse and she was a bit too forgiving. She could have made him work a little harder, but it is a shorter story so...otherwise it was fun and entertaining. Will ways read MS. W.

This book is so freaking sexy and hot! From Start and finish was great. A Sexy Strangers walks in and says try this.... who can say no to that. Kara sure didn't! The chemistry was out of control in this book. Absolutely loved every page in this book. Penny book are so hot every time.

Great words of wisdom. The only part of the book I don't like, is that it is like a copy of Father Tim's journal and much of it is like copied long hand, handwriting and sometimes harder to read...but it is kind of neat, because it feels like reading over his shoulder into his personal journal of inspiring letters and inspiring passages he has collected, but I would have preferred regular typeface.

I love anything written by Jan Karon. A Continual Feast is is full of comfort as noted in title. Written as though Father Tim wrote it himself. I really enjoy reading through this from time to time.

The book was in excellent condition. If you are a Father Tim fan you will want to add this book to your collection. I LOVE it! Purchased used.

What a wonderful compilation by Jan Karon, one of my favorite authors. The book is inspiring and alsoshows a little more of what Father Tim was thinking and believing. Choose this book to send to a shut-inyou know ---it will help the person feel better...more hopeful, and comforted. It also draws one to understandmore about God and what He desires of us as His children. Well put together, I am enjoying this book.

This is like reading a notebook that Father Tim has that he writes sayings, quotes, verses, and poems. It is written in his "handwriting" and what he would sometimes base his sermons on. It is a wonderful book to add to your collection. It is part of The Mitford series written by Jan Karon.

I didn't realize that this book was handwritten and not a typed or printed book. It's like you picked up someone's (Father Tim's) pages of handwritten notes containing positive thoughts.
