This book is about how one man did just that, but had the smarts and courage and strength to stand tall and fight the hard fight.Very timely book of examples of how one can innocently get caught up in an over-policed situation and then have to try and figure out how to undo the harm to not only your personal reputation, but the bucks involved to prove your innocence.Excellent book for use in high schools to make sure students from all walks of life know not only their rights but how very quickly they can be twisted into wrongs.
Ganther's personal experience - written out in the first few chapters - are riveting. A true miscarriage of the justice system and if it can happen to him in small town America it can happen to anyone. Ganther used his experience to write this book, to research the various abuses and corruption within the system to help others.After his personal experience and the result of that Ganther provides many helpful hints on dealing with the police, the courts and how seemingly innocent interactions can land you in hot water.In today's world where we continuously see the police abusing the publics trust in the media, this is a good handbook to be prepared. Ganther isn't saying all police are bad, but he is saying you need to treat them more like strangers and less like a trusted friend.I found the book to have good advice and examples for real world situations.
I watched Randy Ganther go through this horribly true experience and it broke my heart! Now he's turned this sad time into help for all of us who could be a victim of manipulation by family, friends, or possibly even law enforcement. Randy doesn't say all police are bad, but he teaches us not to be naïve, and what to do if faced with accusations. This book is a great read and could not put it down until finished. Really wish I had considered the ideas presented a long time ago. Now that Randy has given such a logical, orderly, and common sense analysis of our police and justice system, I am motivated to research more and take all the good advice to limit possible abuse to my family, and all members of society. I will give a copy of this book to all my family and recommend it to friends.
